Welcome!
Hi everyone! Welcome to my blog, "Little Hands, Big Adventures." I want to create a safe space for parents, families and caregivers to access developmentally appropriate activities for their children, helpful resources, and share stories and experiences. This is also a place where you can hear some stories of my life as a mom - the great times filled with love and laughter, and the not-so great times when I make a mistake, because let's face it we all make mistakes. I am not a professional offering any form of mental health services or counselling but I have a good listening ear and I am a professional in the Early Years. Through working at childcare centres as an Early Childhood Educator I have gained insight and experience into what resources might be most helpful. Through becoming a mom, I also learned that sometimes parents and families just need someone to listen to them and not talk at them. I am going to be releasing new posts every Wednesday filled with activity resources or ideas, informative resources, or a story of my life as a mom. So please tune in every Wednesday for your Weekly Dose! I also love hearing from you guys so please feel free to send me any suggestions, tips, or stories you may have in the contact form below and they can be featured on my blog! Whether you are a mom, dad, uncle, aunt, grandparent, stepparent, or any other form of support in a child's life, I would like to welcome you to visit my blog and become part of this welcoming community. I hope we can all help nurture the growth of our littles ones and ourselves together!

Frog in Pond Process Art Activity
This is an activity I did at a child care centre when I was on my last practicum before I became a certified ECE. I laid out pieces of blue paper to eminate "the pond" and I put green paint onto plates so that children could dip the sponges I had cut into frog feet in the paint and just have a blast. I also cut little lilypads out of paper that children could stick on the paint. They truly enjoyed this activity, and what I think they enjoyed most is that they could make their "pond" look however they wanted. It was an activity that needed supervision but very little instruction.
